The Missionaries to the Family community is bringing Christ and
Catholic culture to their own backyards - literally!
Brian and Leslie Book noticed how their neighborhood’s choice of Halloween decorations was particularly gory and grotesque this year. Rather than complain, they chose to respond by creating something beautiful in their own lawn – a Rosary of tealights and pumpkins with an image of Our Lady as the focal point! This choice is not unrelated to what the Church especially encourages at this time of year – prayers for the deceased.
Dave and Vanessa Mosher make these prayers very intentional by hanging a “bede scroll”, or prayer intention list, in their home every November for the holy souls in Purgatory. This scroll includes specific names of not only those whom the Moshers know but also loved ones of friends. By simply asking to pray for others’ loved ones, they are a witness to the truth of the Resurrection.
