Program Structure

The Choice Wine: 7 Steps to a Superabundant Marriage is a 9 session, interactive, multi-media experience. Couples may experience it by themselves at home, or with other couples either in a Home Group or at their church. While the timing of the sessions can be flexible, it is recommended to run consecutive weeks with as few breaks as possible. A retreat version is available to accommodate the need for a weekend timeframe.

Starting a Parish Program

Hosting The Choice Wine at a parish is a popular and effective option. The process for providing a successful Choice Wine experience is proven and documented. Paradisus Dei provides full-time program coordinators to walk with your parish every step of the way.

The startup process includes:

  • Contact Paradisus Dei’s program coordination team: 281-974-3541
  • Obtain Pastor approval
  • Form a Core Team
  • Complete Core Team training (provided)
  • Order the program materials
  • Run the promotional program
  • LAUNCH The Choice Wine

What is The Choice Wine?

The Choice Wine is a marriage ministry that introduces couples to the 7 Steps to a Superabundant Marriage. Content is organized into 9 engaging sessions. Couples can experience The Choice Wine at a parish, in a home with other couples, or in their own home by themselves. One session per week for nine weeks is the most common approach. Some groups offer sessions monthly. A weekend retreat format is available as well.

What does a session look like?

Weekly Home Group or Parish sessions typically follow this 120-minute structure:

Food and Fellowship: first 30 minutes.
Couples gather, enjoy food and conversation, and get to know each other.

Program Presentation: the next 60 minutes.
Everyone watches that week’s session, typically focusing on one of the 7 Steps.

Small Group Discussions: the last 30 minutes.
Couples gather into small groups to discuss the session content and how it applies to their lives.

How much does it cost?

Program Materials: The parish version is free. The Home Group and Couple’s Version are available for a nominal cost.

Optional Materials: The Couple’s Guide and The Choice Wine book are optional and available for purchase. For large quantity purchases of these items, call 281-974-3541.

Promotional Materials: Optional promotional items to help parishes recruit couples to attend are available for a nominal fee.

Facilities and Food: Typically there is no cost to using parish meeting space or a home for Home Groups. Food is paid for through participant contributions. It is up to each group to decide the best method of collection. Some charge a registration fee, others leave out a basket for a freewill offering.
