The seventh step challenges individuals and couples to practice a mercy so profound that it actually envelops the soul to help prevent it from falling. The patrons of Paradisus Dei, St. John Bosco and St.Thérèse of Lisieux are both models of this step in the work they did.
Don Bosco took on the work and mission to care for poor boys in Turin with the founding of the Festive Oratory. He was fond of saying, “Let the
boys have full liberty to jump, run and make as much noise as they please… ‘Do anything you like, as long as you do not sin.’” Don Bosco exhausted himself bringing authentic joy and making it easy to be good and hard to be bad.
St.Thérèse of Lisieux offered herself as an oblation to the merciful love to God. Daily she offered every action as a gift of love to God. This is the dynamism of the “little way”. This is also our calling and the true lesson of the Sprit of Nazareth.
