Core Team Focus

November

November is here and the TMIY Fall Semester is more than half way over! This month we focus on some key foundational points to build a sustainable and successful program for the long term. Just like the family is the foundation and building block of society, the individual small groups are the key to the long term health of your TMIY program.

November Checklist

  1. Continue the Fall Donation Appeal.  Please send in all Fall Appeal packets prior to December 1st.
  2. Be aware that a slight attendance drop after Thanksgiving is possible.  Work hard to bring the men back those final weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas break.
  3. Host a Small Group Leader Meeting to help Small Group Leaders fully embrace their role.

Role of Small Group Leaders

  1. Review the Facilitator Guide each week.
  2. Make friendships with the men in his group.
  3. Reach out to men when they miss a couple of sessions.
  4. Communicate frequently with the small group via email.
  5. Invite the small group over for a get together over the holidays.
  6. If men in his group do drop out, try to find new participants to join his group.

Quote of the Month:

“I was very inspired by the openness of the men in the small groups and their willingness to share their own shortcomings and desires to grow in the faith and their relationship with Christ. One of the small group leaders commented to me that he was surprised to hear the desperation from some men as they shared how their families are struggling and they recognize the need to step up and be the spiritual leader in their home. This program is exactly what our men, our parish, and the Catholic Church needs today!”
