Our premier programs for couples, men, women and youth engage more than 25,000 participants per year across 40 states and 4 countries. Participation in Paradisus Dei formation is expected to grow 30% in 2016.

Current Positions

Vice President of Development

Basic Function: To develop and lead a national development office by managing all fund development activities for Paradisus Dei, including strategic plan development and implementation, capital campaign development, and hiring and management of development staff. The ideal candidate will provide ‘hands-on’ implementation of development activities to build a foundation for elevating the current fundraising effort to a progressively higher level of sophistication required to meet yearly target goals and objectives. 

Responsibilities: The Vice President Fund Development will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategic fundraising plan. He/she will focus on implementing ‘best practices’ and appropriate level processes and metrics to significantly increase the levels of sustainable, diversified fundraising dollars to the organization. Important responsibilities will include developing campaigns/programs to attract new corporate and individual donors while strengthening ties with the organization’s current database of more than 60,000 potential donors; hiring and managing fund development staff; establishing performance metrics; training and mentoring all Paradisus Dei team and Board members in development roles and responsibilities. As a part of the senior management team, he/she will interact closely with the President, as well as leadership in business and media operations, and branding and marketing, and spiritual formation. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a proven track record in fundraising. He/she will be high-energy, technologically savvy, politically sensitive, and a self-starter with excellent communications skills. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial orientation, and a deep sense of self-confidence, with a passion for Paradisus Dei’s mission and values.

The new Vice President of Fund Development is responsible for all aspects of fund development, namely: discovery, qualification, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts. The ideal candidate will be able to accomplish this by sharing the mission of Paradisus Dei and the joy of the Catholic faith; understanding potential donor’s particular needs and philanthropic objectives, and helping them to align their goals in support of Paradisus Dei’s mission. Paradisus Dei believes in and supports personal spiritual growth. Team members have the opportunity to join in the office chapel for daily prayer adapted from the Liturgy of the Hours.  

Candidate should have:

  • Passionate love for family and a committed Catholic faith.
  • Undergraduate degree is required. Graduate degree a plus.

  • Minimum of 10+ years overall experience in fundraising/sales/business development and management.

  • Responsibility for and proven track record in raising $2-4+ million annually.

  • Classical fundraising and social media experience in a resource-limited environment.

  • Experience in major donor research and development, planned giving, major events, direct mail, individual and corporate giving, and metrics-based business practices. Religious/non profit organization experience, a plus.

  • Experience in selecting and implementing fundraising database software.

  • Must be able to travel extensively and undertake challenging tasks based on the strategic plan.

  • Strong creative, communications, and collaborative people skills.

  • ‘Can do’ attitude, with determination, humility, and compassion.

  • Ability to thrive as a team player in a rapid-growth, entrepreneurial, mission-driven organization.
